How to Overcome Sexual Addiction

How does one overcome sexual addiction?  The simple answer is that a person that has died can no longer be addicted to anything.

DO NOT HARM YOURSELF!  You do not need to kill yourself to be free from your addictions.  The fortunate truth is that this has already taken place in the person of Jesus Christ.  Jesus death included all the “old creation”.  That is everyone in Adam.  Jesus took the old creation with Him into the grave.  As the “Firstborn of the NEW CREATION”, Jesus brought into resurrection all who are in Him.  “If any man be in Christ, he/she is a NEW CREATION” (2CORINTHIANS 5:17).

To understand this, you have to put away your linear concepts of time.  Obviously, this transcends time.  You also have to put aside your natural thoughts and feelings and allow them to be replaced by the reality of what God has accomplished in His Son, Jesus.  You can begin to experience this reality right now in time but you have to do this through faith.  Faith is something that God gives to you to allow you to lay hold of all that He has done and all that He is.  It starts by accepting the testimony of God concerning His Son Jesus.  It is so simple, most people will pass it up, but if anyone will open themselves to God in a sincere way and receive Jesus Christ, they will have begun their new life in Him.  This is God’s own life and God will witness from within those who receive Him so that the person beginning this eternal journey will know by Him that it has begun and that He and His promises are real.

“As many as receive Him, (Jesus) He gave the power/ability/right to become the son’s of God, to those that believe on His name” (John 1:12)
